Borussia

Borussia

We visited this place after our trip from Bantayan island, with the help of my sister's officemate who brought us there with her van. It was like a continuation of our island vacation; bright skies, pleasant weather, lots of trees. It was like a paradise in the middle of nowhere with its own exclusive pathway, owned by a German-Filipina couple who managed to convert it into a restaurant/vacation place. The overall ambiance is very pleasant and easy on the eyes, because it makes you feel like you're living in a remote "hacienda" with the wide open space and garden all around.

What i like about this restaurant is that they make their own bread from scratch as well as other dishes. Most of their meat, such as the pork and duck, are raised locally and are guaranteed drug free. Their food are top notch and quite exquisite to taste. I had the priviledge to taste their beef roll (rouladen) and their pork loin, both of which are simmered just right in their creamy sauce. Their duck was also extravagant; tender and juicy with just the right amount of fat and meat.
Their desserts are nothing to laugh at, mind you! They bake their own pastries and churn their own ice cream. And they don't even sacrifice the taste. It was most delectable when we finally opened our loaf of lemon cake. At first i thought lightly of it, not even looking a bit appetizing. But when i placed a bite in my mouth, i was sure, that this they make GREAT desserts.
The good thing is that they also deliver to people who want to sample their food. Specialty bread, meat, jams, you name it. Believe me, you won't regret eating here and going over your diet.

I sure didn't.

Verdict:
A: 5/5

Finally, one of the new places to eat where i won't hesitate to give a full star rating. The price, the ambiance, and the service is very much worth it.

Linea

I never really understood why a lot of people fuss about February 14, or rather, why people think that love is best displayed on one specific day. Why the flowers, why the chocolates, why the expensive dinners, the sweet flattery words exclusively used over and over by a multitude of individuals all over the world. I mean seriously, out of the 365 days in a year, they just had to pick one day out of the many when they could just cherish their love and passion for one another everyday. What screwed logic is that?
Blah. I’m rambling. But hey, I’m not complaining about discounted meals for two, if you ask me. ;)
Linea in IT Park, one of the less packed establishments on this day, had this Valentines’ day promo available for their patrons.  Each meal is comprised of a salad bowl for appetizers and an extravagant main dish of your choice between beef roulade and grilled salmon with a refreshing glass of red or white wine. To top the evening off, you get a dessert plate of cooled fresh fruits with several mounds of ice cream sprinkled with a generous amount of cinnamon.
The appetizer, Linea salad, had greens with an intricate amount of crisp in them in addition to the load of nuts and sweetness of the vinaigrette generously sprinkled on it. The main dish, the beef roulade was cooked just right in contrast to the (overcooked) grilled salmon.  Interestingly, the main dishes had potatoes with them, one served mashed and the other grilled.
In addition to the packaged deal we ordered, we also got a 12-inch vegetarian pizza, something I really didn’t quite like either.  The menu advertised zucchini added into it as well as shiitake mushrooms but both were non-existent!
Dessert was a good return from a disappointing salmon dish (not to mention the pizza!) It was diabetes heaven, but it was well worth it! Two scoops of strawberry ice cream and a centerpiece scoop of cinnamon ice cream! Yum!

This place is a hit and miss. Sometimes they get the taste while sometimes they don’t. Worth a second visit if you have enough money. This place is pricey,
